Commandeer the Rear

Session Type:
Current societal trends mean that our clientele are those who sit for the majority of their day. This dangerous habit has the flow-on effect of enabling inactivity in muscles…specifically, those muscles that are sat upon – the glutes. From the start of the fitness journey, it’s next to impossible to activate muscles which have never been asked to move. The brain to body cues seem almost severed. In this practical session, we will explore the fundamentals of an active posterior chain, transforming our main motor from a stagnant mass to a dynamic powerhouse.

Learning Outcomes:
• Understanding the importance and function of the gluteal muscle structure
• Appreciating why the glutes turn off
• Techniques to strengthen the brain-to-butt connection at various levels
• Practical tools to assist propulsion in walking, stepping, jumping, and running
• Sequel to 2022’s popular session, “Gear to Steer the Rear”.
