Session Type: Specific Populations
A large number of children and adolescence reduce or completely stop exercising when they hit puberty. Current research tells us that many of our young people are not meeting the minimum requirement for weekly physical activity. This session will explore the factors that encourage children and adolescence to start exercising, keep exercising and build movement into their lifestyle from a young age. We will explore the various factors that influence what will keep our young people moving, how best to encourage them to explore their movement interests and what is safe but effective for young growing bodies.
Session Type: Specific Populations
An ageing population means we are seeing more clients present to us with a range of different neurological conditions. Rates of various types of Dementia, Alzheimer's Disease and Parkinson's Disease are increasing all around the world and fitness professionals can play a large role in assisting these clients to have a greater quality of life. Personal Trainers also play a crucial role in educating and empowering clients to change the behaviours that increase the risk of developing these diseases.
