An ageing population means we are seeing more clients present to us with a range of different neurological conditions. Rates of various types of Dementia, Alzheimer’s Disease and Parkinson’s Disease are increasing all around the world and fitness professionals can play a large role in assisting these clients to have a greater quality of life. This session will look at the common neurological conditions that are most likely to be encountered, how to recognise some of the symptoms for referral, what sort of exercise will be most beneficial and what are the factors that influence how likely this group of clients are to make changes to their lifestyle and engage in physical activity.
