Lou James

Lou James, MNZM, is an internationally recognised leader in oncology rehabilitation and the current CEO of the PINC & STEEL Cancer Rehabilitation Foundation. She holds a Bachelor of Health Science in Physiotherapy and has dedicated the past 20 years to improving recovery outcomes for people affected by cancer.

Lou is the founder of PINC & STEEL International, an education academy that champions the role of rehabilitation in cancer care. Her work has led to the training of more than 2,000 cancer rehab providers across 24 countries, supporting people throughout their treatment and recovery.

She also established the PINC & STEEL Cancer Rehabilitation Foundation in New Zealand, which provides funded rehabilitation services to thousands of New Zealanders each year who would otherwise miss out due to financial hardship or limited access.

In recognition of her pioneering work in this field, Lou was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM) in 2017 for services to people with cancer.

Lou is passionate about bridging the gap between medical treatment and meaningful recovery — and believes fitness professionals have a powerful role to play in helping people rebuild strength, confidence, and quality of life after cancer.
